So, my visit here was a mixed bag, but if you read nothing else, let me say quickly that I don't get the service complaints - new staff or otherwise. Everything I saw was timely and appropriate...my server (and a busboy, each) checked in no less than every 5 minutes. I'm not sure what more attention an actual adult could need. While the place wasn't completely slammed, it was fairly busy, though it was raining...so perhaps the service gets pinched when the patio is in full swing. Dunno. When I stood up to leave, one of the table bussers saw me quickly set down the items I was carrying and stopped what he was doing to come over and ask me if he could get me a carrier sack to help with the takeaway, umbrella, and other sundries I had in hand. Since I'd actually broken my necklace (composed of a billion or so beads - natch - which had all fallen into my bust / bra / top), that was one of the most helpful (and / or tactful, if he actually did know what happened) offers of my trip to Myrtle Beach. Anyway - the crazy good melt with ham, bacon, fried green tomatoes, pimento, and havarti cheese, is just that...crazy good. We're talking eat half, order a second to go, since while Tupelo Honey is a very small chain, it's not exactly local to all....Worth a visit, for this alone, though I will admit some of their menu items leave me a bit skeptical. The biscuits. Mmmmm...They're terrible. With not much of a sample to work with, I couldn't sort whether the recipe was off (too much or badly mixed baking powder / soda, depending on your pref), or they were dropped on still-hot pans and it took awhile to get them in the oven) What I was served was crunchy. Seriously. Crunch - crunch. Grrrrrrr. Gritty blackberry...grit But the honey was tasty, if a bit, well, on the nose. I thought that prices were just fine for the food portion size and food quality. You may want to ask for prices on bottled beers...several seemed to skew fairly high for fairly average options, though. I do wish that the server had pointed out / pushed drafts instead of bottles. I mean, p'shaw, at a place with good food, I'm not expecting that when I take the staff recommendation, I'm going to wind up with something bottled, unless they've specified such. Plus it's a really comfortable, fairly well-thought-out space. Overall very appealing, informal, and parking nearby (though not adjacent) is fairly reliable. I plan on another visit!

Adorable decor with finishing touches everywhere. I notice everything and was so impressed with the cleanliness of this restaurant. Even the bathrooms were completely tidy. The food was all fresh as advertised. We are visiting from the Nj/ny area and were searching for great local food and/or not a massive chain restaurant. We were all wowed! Our server, Alexander, was new but very sweet and attentive. The manager also strolled around often to make sure all was well.

Fantastic, fresh, and perfect if you're trying to eat healthy! Not only is this restaurant located in the best part of Myrtle Beach (the Market Commons area), but the food and service is impeccable. It completely exceeds expectations. And if you are trying to eat healthy, this is the best option! With farm to table options, you can't go wrong.

Newly opened so service was pretty bad our waiter disappeared forever. Disappointed we couldn't have brunch but it wasn't awful! I guess we're spoiled from the one in Greenville!

Amazing breakfast and coffee!!! Parking can be difficult to find (especially on weekends and holidays as there is only parallel parking out front) but the food makes the hassle worth it!!!

Interesting & different than the surrounding other restaurants in market commons. I did like the lamb meat balls with goat cheese.

  • Brian G.

Great food and service. Happy hour prices are good and they have a huge selection of craft beers as well as signature mixed drinks on draft. Must ask for Jim D for server! He's the man!

The food was good, but it was a little expensive in my opinion for what you get. The atmosphere was nice and the staff were very friendly.

Love this place so much that we made my mother in law go with us today even though she was here last night with friends from out of town, She didn't mind because on Sundays they have their brunch menu with a few different breakfast items you don't find on the regular menu. Best place to eat in the Market Commons. Great food, southern style but with plenty of modern twists, and always good. Service was good as usual. We have been many times before and will again.

I want to like this place, but the service is not very good, beginning with the hostess treating a singleton like crap.

Had my first dining experience here last night. I went to dinner with 5 friends, I ordered the scallops. They were $27. I got four scallops which smelled one day away from going in the garbage. Definitely not fresh. Additionally, they tasted as if someone had dumped an entire box of salt on them and my dinner was cold. Two people in our group ordered the meatloaf. Both commented that the meatloaf was cold. We had a pimento cheese dip which tasted like mustard with pimentos stirred in. Horrible. One friend ordered trout, which she thought was good and the other had the lamb meatballs. All in all, no one in the group was impressed and we most likely will not be returning here to eat again. We all live locally. Better to skip this place and go someplace else.

Great beer selection and food has been very solid on the four visits we have made. Service was good too.

Got the black bean burger with fries. It was a great sandwich the aoli sauce added a nice zip! The biggest negative for me was that the main seating area was very noisy. The service was good. I would return again.

We had dinner here while on vacation. The field green tomatoes were great, but the Charleston chicken sandwich was only ok. Our service was great and I love the decor. They have a lot of craft beer options and happy prices on pints. I would go again.

I'm visiting Myrtle Beach area and have eaten out every meal this week. This place was by far the best meal so far. Unique menu items and expertly prepared. Try the small plate of goat cheese rolled in pecans with fig sauce and sautéed apples- delicious!! Great burgers and excellent onion bisque soup. I'll definitely return- so many things I want to try.

We only popped in for drinks at sat at the bar. Good beer selection and "draft cocktails" too. Not cheap but hit the spot for getting out of the sun and having a drink! Service was good.

This is overpriced for what you get. The country ham and cream cheese potstickers were tasty. The main entree was fair. The steak was tender but small. The price points will kill your wallet.

Yummy food & great outdoor setting. Good brunch options & their omelette was amazing!

Unique casual dinning experience. I like the farm to table menu and the local flare this chain brings. The prices are a little on the upper end of family friendly budget, but a great lunch or dinner for two, or date night spot.

We decided to stop in here for a drink to check out this new restaurant in the Market Common. All I can say is I hope the owner has a surveillance tape of the bar area. We walked in and sat at the bar, not crowded, open seats. The bartender, a woman, was right in front of us. Never looked up, never took our order, no acknowledgement of any kind. I heard her talking to a young waitress about her tips. Now, we have a home in the MB area, so we're always looking for new restaurants. To the owner-you just lost a customer. We waited 5 minutes and got up and left. Walked over to a good restaurant with good service. Won't be back.

The help can make such a difference. A waitress walking by as we were waiting at the Check In counter grabbed some menus and sat us. The waitress, Tamara, then took our order and was one of the best severs I have ever had! I wasn't sure about the " on tap" Bloody Mary and she brought a sample. Too hot for me, but the Bourbon/ginger was great. I hade the Soo Chessy grilled cheese and soup. Just right. My wife ( ever the adventurer ) had a Hamburger and fries. The Hamburger was above average ( and for 13.00 should be), and the string fries were Great. This is a real nice place to eat and we will be going back to try some of the other fun things on the menu. The only down thing was at the end of our time there I asked to speak to a manager, to tell him( or her) what a GREAT server we had. The guy who showed up ("one of the managers") was kind of a Jerk. I think we were bothering him!

    (4)
  • Bhumi P.

Great food! Service is why it got 4 star, but the manager/assistant manager totally made up for it. Will definitely go again to try some other items on the menu. The biscuits - no words to describe. So good!

We've been to three other Tupelo locations because we love it that much. This location has outdoor seating in a very nice newly constructed area. Great service and great food. It's a nice place to explore if you like outdoor browsing.

This is my first review. I wanted so much to truly like Tupelo. First what I liked. The gin and tonic, and Mac and Cheese appetizer. Loved the atmosphere and servers. Not happy with....... Portions. Very Small....Duck breast with Veggie pot pie and Brussel sprout salad, best thing was the pot pie, only a tablespoon of sprouts were on the plate and 5 medallions of duck. I will think twice before coming here again.

This is an amazing restaurant located right in the beautiful Market Commons. It's in a great area and has great food! You have to order the mashed sweet potatoes they are my favorite side on the menu.

Hostess just told me I couldn't sit at an open-seating table in the bar because she had a reservation that she HAD to seat NOW. She went on to insinuate I had removed the "reserved" sign from the table; there was no sign. Won't be back. I'm only giving one star because it won't let me give less. Suck it, THC.

Love what they've done with the space! Can't wait for it to get warmer to sit outside. The biscuits are very good with or without the jam and/or honey. We got the pimento cheese appetizer... Bland for our taste. The maple glazed salmon was awesome along with the Brussels sprout salad and the mashed cheddar cauliflower. Yum! The tomato soup and grilled cheese was good. The banana pudding is light and creamy and yummy. And the mimosa hit the spot. I think I found my new go to place! Welcome to Myrtle Beach!

Carly our server was great. Very attentive and always around when we needed her. She was very knowledgeable of the menu items and the beer selections and made great recommendations. She took the time to talk to us and made our dining experience significantly better.

Best place we've eaten all week! They first start off with home made biscuits, local honey, and a blueberry preserve that is outstanding! Their "small plates" were the perfect size for two. We had the Mac n' cheese and the fried green tomatoes ands grits. That alone could've been enough! I had also ordered the black bean burger while my girlfriend had a salad. Best black bean burger I've ever had! I wish we knew about this place sooner because we would've tried more of their delicious menu! Definitely a must!

Ate here on vacation in Myrtle Beach on the recommendation of a friend. Pretty darn good. The Food: I had a Fried Chicken BLT - the fried chicken was exceptionally crispy, but not too bready. The sandwich came with pimento cheese that was very nice, if not a lot messy. Portion size was generous, and the flavor was very good. The Drink: OK, so I like fufu drinks. I got their "signature" passion fruit daquiri/pina colada. It was tall, cold, fruity, boozy, and $6. The best part is that it was actually made of fruit puree, not syrup. The result was a cocktail where you didn't just taste the mega sweet syrup most chains use in these kinds of drinks. I'm used to paying $10+ for this quality of cocktail. The Service: Really outstanding service - our waitress was Caitlin. She took plenty of time to explain the different menu choices, made some good recommendations (ie: the passion fruit cocktail.) As a non-southerner, I definitely felt welcomed and would come back again. The Price: Pretty reasonable, definitely lower than what you would expect. The $6 giant cocktail was not watered down, and as stated earlier, would easily fetch twice that price without shocking me. Bonus: There are some neat belt-driven fans in the bar area, take a look up and marvel.

We went with a few friends and was a little disappointed because we had a reservation at 8:15 and we didn't get seated until around 9:15 or so. Once we got seated it took a while for everything to come out. We didn't get our food until 10:45. Which honestly... is a long time. I understand that the restaurant is fairly new but when we're told that we were going to be comp'd chips and dip and then when we got the ticket..we had to pay for it. What I can say. Is that the food was fantastic..war it with the wait? Not so sure.

Great meal. Started with a sweet potato pancake to share. This was so good that i would order this for my meal next time. The tomato soup was really yummy with my chicken sandwich with avocado and bacon. The only reason they do not get 5 stars is the service. I love to have a beverage to sip on all the times. Our waitress miss that my drink was empty quite a bit. I'm not a fan of the brunch menu that was served today. I wanted to see a larger selection of choices on the menu. Cheers.

My parents and I dined here on 9/9/15. For those of you who are familiar with the area, this restaurant took the place of the Tommy Bahama Restaurant. We were greeted by three people when we came in and were taken to a table immediately. The restaurant had several tables along the side filled, but it wasn't too crowded. The place was beautiful inside. Our same come over to introduce himself. Earlier in the day, I went online to take a look at their menu and noticed that if you signed up for their email list, you would get a free Tupelo Honey Pint Glass. Unfortunately, my server let me know that they were completely out of glasses. He said he would have given me the one I was drinking out of, but they were running low on glasses in the restaurant in general. Bummer! He took our drink and appetizer order. Shortly after, we were given complimentary biscuits and blackberry jam. I don't like blackberries, but believe me when I say this jam was so good that I took the last bite of my biscuit and scraped out every last bit of jam in the container. Yep - it was that good! The biscuits were warm and delicious. I ordered the small NC Country Ham Wontons, which came with a shaved honeyed Brussels sprouts salad. The small portion came with 4 wontons, and the large portion has 8 wontons. The wontons were delicious. They were creamy and loaded with ham. We all fought to eat the last one! My father ordered the Jumbo Lump Crab Cake appetizer, which came with jalapeño aioli greens and baby tomatoes. My father really enjoyed his crab cake, but said he probably wouldn't get it as a meal. The jalapeño greens had quite the kick, but was very good. For our main meals, I ordered the Nutty Fried Chicken topped with creamy milk gravy, and my sides were a side salad with bleu cheese (I was brought ranch instead) and baked mac-n-cheese. My dad ordered the Hickory Nut Gap Farm Beef and Bacon Meatloaf topped with rosemary tomato shallot gravy, and his sides were mac-n-cheese, and shoestring fries with parmesan cheese and BBQ spice. My mom ordered the Southern Buttermilk Fried Chicken Breast with smashed sweet potatoes and a side salad with their house dressing. Every was great! My chicken was cooked perfectly, and I loved the gravy it came with. The mac-n-cheese was creamy, and my side salad had crisp greens, fresh tomatoes and red onions, and even some sunflower seeds. My parents enjoyed their meals as well. The smashed sweet potatoes were a hit with my mom. My dad thought the meatloaf tasted great and loved the combination of the bacon and gravy. Our server was polite, funny, and checked in with us often. Overall, it was a good experience and we had great service and food. We will definitely make it a point to return the next time we're on vacation.

Food was really really good service was good too. The only thing I was disappointed about was that they charged us $3.25 for an apple juice for my son. When we asked they said it was apple cider. If we knew they would have charged us $3.25 for "apple cider" we would have just gotten my son some water. Other than that my shrimp and grits were exceptional! My wife's scallops were tender and melt in you mouth. It was very good except for my sons "apple juice"!

Oh I just love Tupelo! I decided to take my parents here last night since we're in Myrtle Beach for a long weekend, and I've always enjoyed my experiences at the Chattanooga location. To say that service was pleasant and efficient would be an understatement. Our waiter, Ryan, KILLED IT. Funny, charming, personable - just an all around delight. We started with some of their housemade sodas (lavender-limeade fizz for me, peach-rosemary lemonade for my father) and excitedly anticipated the fresh biscuits with honey and blueberry preserves - the perfect precursor to any meal. I skipped my usual app (although I LOVE the fried green tomatoes with goat cheese grits) and instead went full on breakfast mode with a giant pecan pancake topped with fried chicken and peach butter. Oh so decadent, highly-caloric and totally worth it. My dad opted for the beef and bacon meatloaf with rosemary tomato shallot gravy (I enjoyed his leftovers for lunch today) and my mom ordered the classic fried chicken. While the entrees were both great, the sides really made the meals shine. Their dishes each came with two sides, and the lengthy list of options included a wonderful balance of fried Southern specialties (fried okra, etc) and more health conscious options (delicious bene coated asparagus, carrot & kale slaw with avocado lime vinaigrette, and blueberry lemon quinoa) so we were happy and stuffed by the end of the meal. The kale-carrot slaw and mac and cheese were the true standouts. To go boxes definitely came in handy! Always a fantastic meal at Tupelo regardless of location. Looking forward to my next visit already!

Man oh man... i am STILL full from eating at Tupelo haha The food was great! Ordered a burger n fries. The fries had a parsley parmesan cheese on it and they were crispy and perfect! The burger? fresh ingredients and a wonderful chipotle sauce. We also ordered the honey siracha wings. OH MAN THEY ARE AWESOME. fried in cotton oil (apparently thats the way to go down here in SC haha). Their signature mac n cheese wasn't as great as I thought it would be, but was still satisfying. The complementary biscuit you get with blackberry jam is THE BEST THING EVER. OOOOMMMMGGGG who knew a biscuit could be so amazing. Happy hour has amazing specials. Order the $5 goat cheese with fig and bruschetta bread and a $5 margarita. all on point. We also took advantage of the free kids meal option that's available on yelp so we just BOUGHT EVERYTHING haha. thanks again Tupelo.

Seriously satisfied customers, all ages happy (6,11,36). The first draw was the break from the typical menu items and ambience. From the hot fresh complimentary biscuit and blueberry preserves, rich and creamy Mac and cheese, the goat cheese grit app, to fried chicken and grateful dead black bean burger. Nothing went wrong only hungry for more and ready to return. For those of you looking for good craft beer options this is great spot! Nice balance of local and other craft brews on tap worth tasting. Coast Hop Art highly recommended.

Back for a quick, follow-up review. More of the same here; a good time was had by all. Headed down for happy hour with a few friends in tow... We decided to stake a claim at the bar (Thanks, B.) for the evening where we easily passed a few hours. I started with a Coast IPA (mild hop, good bit of clove in this one) followed up with a fantastic little house concoction of theirs; the Ginger whiskey. (forget exactly what they call it; but I had a couple.) On to the eats. By the way, I spaced this out over the course of a few hours so don't judge me! It's not like I ordered all this stuff at once or anything;-) So, I started out with the Appalachian egg rolls. These really were amazing and absolutely jammed with pork. Zero complaints and more than enough for two to share...unless I'm around, in which case, get your own. After moving through another one of those ginger whiskey things I started eye-balling the menu again for something else to nibble on. Bring on the fried okra! A generous portion, not too salty...just right! Fast forward an hour and another beer or two and (Remember, I was here a while) I started thinking about the sweet potato pancake. Boom! This thing hits the table (pic below) with a halo over it. I mean look at it; it's glorious! That's it. Can't eat another bite. I'm full and spiking my napkin like I'm droppin' the mike at the Apollo..., I'm out. Check please! Thanks guys! -Neil NOTE: If you want to check out my insanely detailed review of a previous visit, read below. Fair warning. It's got legs. Be sure and follow me for more local reviews.

Great Place to Eat! The food is amazing! I was lucky to find this great gem of a restaurant thanks to Yelp. It's really a cool restaurant. Great selection of food and beer. I could probably eat here every day. I had the Goat Cheese Grits Poppers as an appetizer. Yum!!! It was so hard to pick an appetizer because they all sounded amazing. They served a nice hot homemade biscuit with Tupelo Honey and Blueberry Jam.... I could have easily eaten a dozen of these. For my entree I had a Marinated Chicken Breast, Cheesy Smashed Cauliflower, and sautéed Brussel Sprouts salad with honey vinaigrette. So good!! Our server was EJ. He provided great service. Very attentive. I'll definitely be back here as often as possible. They have so many items on the menu I'm dying to try!!!

Heard a few good things about this place, we went in for a late lunch, we were seated immediately, our server was ok, we started with the okra it was good, served with a side of a white sauce, had a fried chicken sandwich, it was good, ordered it with no tomato, it came with tomato on it, the dijon mustard is over powering, the Macaroni and cheese was ok not great, is not like casserole style its more like fiesta velveeta cheese and mac. Banana Pudding was good

I had such high hopes for this restaurant. The ambience is great. However, the food and drinks were unremarkable. The only good thing was the biscuits and jam they give you as a complimentary starter. Such a shame the food wasn't better.

Hmmm...mixed feelings about this place. I have been waiting to try this place since opening & I was a bit underwhelmed. Starting when we walked in the door... There was no one else but the 3 of us & there were 3 ladies standing behind the podium that didn't welcome us & didn't say anything to us but stared through us as if we were not there. I finally spoke up & asked for a table outside for 3. Then one of the ladies came to life. We had to wait for a table to be cleaned which took about 10 minutes. Once seated, the service was very slow. The waiter was very nice & helpful with the menu but the place was obviously under staffed. Once our meals arrived; my shrimp & grits I could tell had been sitting for awhile. The food was ok; not great. The restaurant & atmosphere is fun & the menu is diverse. I like that they have GF food & beer selections. We may go back & sit at the bar next time for drinks & apps but probably not for dinner.

Loved it. The food was great- very unique. The decor was amazing. Great service. Part of a regional chain, but worth the stop. Great for large groups. Outside patio is lovely. I had the fried shrimp with Mac n cheese and shredded Brussel sprout salad on the side. Everyone at the table agreed that my order was the winner. The fruity spritzers were a fun alternative to the unusual soda pop.

first off let me type I love this place, I love the market commons and I love Myrtle Beach if you are in the area its worth the drive even if its a bit of a distance from the beach its homey looking big booths or table plus a bar area with TVs The guy who served us has the same accent as the Russian hacker on you tube I wondered if it was legit... anyway we were brought big hot biscuit with honey and jam just seconds after we sat down Tupelo honey we were told my maple glazed salmon was fantastic the quinuia blueberry lemon side was so awesome that I would gladly have had it as a main dish the fish comes with two sides so my other choice was a side salad the menu says their dressings are homemade and they sure to taste it blue cheese one night and citrus the next visit Viv had trout and she loved it we are trying to eat low carbish so she had greens beans as her side as well as the salad Yum was her exact words on those beans side note they give you a full container of honey and I put it on everything and it was good when I am back in Myrtle I will be eating here love the Market Commons and there is easy parking situation

Great lunch, my wife and I really enjoyed meal. BUT best part was personality and service that we rec'd from Ryan. It was our first time at Tupelo Homey Cafe, but will not be our last time fining there. We eat out often and we both impressed with Ryan's skills and awesome attitude. All food items were great and priced fairly, will will make Tupelo a targeted venue on each subsequent trip to Myrtle Beach. JB

Because my husband and I went to another of these chain (we didn't know it was a chain) restaurant, and had a wonderful time, we decided to give this place a try. This was formerly Tommy Bahama's grille, and although I wanted to go there, I never got to it. Anyway we arrived early and asked to sit indoors. We had a booth on the side and there was a family and a couple in the restaurant at that time. They sounded a little loud, but we tolerated it. We ordered drinks and dinner. The waiter kept coming back and asking my husband how our meal was, I guess he didn't give a damn about my opinion. It's all good, I was chewing anyway. The floodgates seem to have opened and nearly every table filled up. The noise level was like a constant sonic boom. Kids screaming, echoed off the walls and I could barely hear my husband across the table unless I raised my voice. That's probably what caused the other adults to speak loudly and it all echoed so loudly, I just wanted to leave. The food was good and we felt cared for by the waiter, but we needed to leave. Once, outside the door in the market common the quiet chat of people, breeze and occasional car passing by was such a relief to my ears. My husband and I agreed we will return to this restaurant, but never sit inside again.

If you're within 100 miles of this place, you HAVE TO GO!!! It's unbelievable. Every single menu item is amazing. The queen Bloody Mary has about 10 toppings, and you can get it with moonshine! We've never had a bad experience (besides having to wait a little so we suggest making a reservation) but it's so worth it. We only eat out every 2 weeks and this is one of our more popular places. The biscuits are amazing. All the drinks are special and hand-crafted. The food is amazingly southern and the portions are great. I can't say enough wonderful about this place. The staff is a always amazing. Always ask for Caitlyn, she's the best waitress!

Very good and refreshing menu for adults and children. Not just nuggets and dogs for kids but healthy southern cookin. Shrimp and grits w/chorizo was excellent and curry southern chicken was delicious. Well crafted beer rotating selection, I had a session and honey suckle lavender flip was refreshing. Nice shop area too. Kids eat free for dinner.

Excellent! A great find when you dislike run of the mill pancake houses that all have the same menu. Went for Sunday brunch. Got Shoo Mercy Shrimp & grits and a sweet potato pancake with fried chicken. Both were fantastic. Free moist biscuits with blueberry jam and Tupelo honey was also a plus. Friendly service too!

Just when I thought it couldn't get any better, we met the manager Patrick! The food is so good it's ridiculous. It's hard not to order the sweet potato pancake every time I'm there, but we branched out and had the fried avocados and chicken blt. So yummy. Patrick came by to check on us and we had a blast just talking with him! Love it! Can't wait to go back!!

So.... When this place first opened the food was good (good at its best). A month or so later we went there for my sis bday and well to say the least I sent my food back. I got the scallops and they smeller like pure fish before they even got to the table. The cook knew that they were bad because he tried to over power the nastiness with salt. They were completely inedible. Have not been back since. Although had friends go there since then and they said that the food is over priced and actually the taste of the food also got worse. Give it a try, see what you think. Not sure if I'd go back. Only maybe for a drink.

THC is a wildly popular chain and I thought I would check out the MB location while I was in town. I loved this location when it was Tommy Bahamas; they did a fantastic Happy Hour. Now the space is still beautiful (minus the strange HVAC tubing at the bar) with plenty of outdoor seating but with a new bar area. Our server was wonderful, no complaints in that department. For drinks we tried the Beach Thistle and the Whiskey Ginger. Both were ok but we wouldn't get them again. Great beer selection to choose from and I wished I had gone with one of them. We were given complimentary biscuits that were meh. Dense and bland served with a preserve that didn't help matters. They do not offer any food specials during happy hour so we just ordered some Fried Green Tomatoes and the Fried Avocado from their small plates menu. I like the idea of goat cheese grits with the tomatoes but they were surprisingly bland. The tomatoes themselves were average but the red pepper coulis was divine. Everyone agreed you could get better tomatoes in the area. Personally I have never tried fried avocado and I was intrigued. The base of fresh salsa was indeed fresh and delicious but for $8.50 I was hoping for more than 2 slices of avocado. Over all we were glad we tried them but we are in no hurry to go back. I think if you are willing to drop some $$$ you might have a better experience.

I don't know where to start...... so I'll just say everything I've had in my 2 visits to this place have been amazing!

Great food , great atmosphere and great service! The tupelo honey cafe biscuits are a great way to start off your meal we always ask for peach butter which is perfect accompaniment along with the blueberry jam. Fried okra, kale salad are new editions to the menu and are quite tasty. Beautiful decor and a great patio with fire pit!

Great dish! I ordered the friend chicken breast over 2 biscuits with gravy and bits of ham and a side dish of goat cheese grits. I was kind of hesitant on the grits, but the waitress convinced me to try them so I did. Good thing I did. The meal was so delicious and filling!

Looks can be deceiving and disappointing. This place touts something special in the way of the new southern cooking trend of putting a twist on the typical southern fare. The new southern dishes are there, but the kitchen isn't able to follow through on the dishes. Tupelo Honey Cafe has multiple operations, and the original might have been just fine, but something got lost in the translation down the line. Maybe, the kitchen was just having a bad day since this restaurant is a new offering in Myrtle Beach; however, at their prices and considering they have had time to develop the concept there is no forgiveness. A second chance is out of the question. The first bad meal is shame on them, and the second one is shame on you for going back. The decor is very nice and the staff was very cordial, but that is where the good part of the experience ended. The meals for the two of us were very disappointing to say the least. In all fairness the martini was very good, it helped numb my senses to the disappointing part.

We were really excited about trying this place, since we'd heard such great things about the Charlotte locations. And while the food was good and well-presented, and the ambience and decor were really nice - the service didn't match up to that quality and was sub-par enough to warrant a 3-star. No one seemed to know what their role was, and our waiter started off by telling us it was his 3rd day on the job and said to please not order anything complicated. Also, this is a personal pet peeve but stopping EVERY 5 minutes to ask if we're doing okay is disruptive and annoying. Other staff had a kind of deer-in-headlights look when we asked for extra napkins, replacement silverware, etc. Ultimately it was obvious it was a new restaurant that still needed to work out it's kinks. Once they do, I imagine this will be a successful location. The fried avocado appetizer was delicious, and I had the chicken and biscuits for dinner. The breading was a little too spicy for my taste but other than that, it was good as well.

We were a party of 6 adults and 3 toddlers. Our reservation was 6:30. We were seated within a few minutes of arrival. The server was there quickly and was very personable. That is where the good stops and out comes trouble. We waited 1 1/2 hours for the meals to arrive. We were seated at 6:35 and dinner arrived at 8:02. We The place was SO loud no one noticed our hungry toddlers. I will never return to this place.

Awesome food. Best Fried Okra I've ever had. For the most part the food isn't really new an inovative, rather, it's southern classics cooked really really well for instance, my group had grilled chicken, fried okra, meatloaf, masehd sweet potatoe. There is some experimentation, however, for example the pulled pork eggrolls where quite good. None of the overly boiled and overly fried food that southern food has largely devloved into.

Much larger than the Ashville location, and therefore slightly less character. But... The NC Country Ham won tons were stupid good. We'd gotten biscuits, jam and honey at the NC location without asking, so weren't sure if we should ask here...turns out we did, and our waitress brought them out, no questions asked. The nutty fried chicken was a delicious, thick chicken breast with excellent, peppery white gravy. I also had the fried okra (great) and the smashed cauliflower, which was surprisingly cold. Husband had the Shoo Mercy shrimp and grits, and even after he thought he was done, there was more shrimp to be had. Overall, an excellent experience. I kind of wish there was a location closer to me!

Great menu. Excellent service. All the food had great flavor and whatever raspberry beer I had from their pretty impressive selection was fantastic. Outdoor, comfortable seating. Only complaints - My steak was slightly over cooked, medium came out well. The bill was just a bit too high for the food portions, but you pay for the great environment.

Service was horrible. The hostess was very inexperienced, she whispered and we could barely hear her. The restaurant was not busy. She told us that our server would be right with us. We waited for an unacceptable amount of time before the server ran by our table to tell us she would be right back. We waited another lengthy period of time and almost got up to leave when the server returned saying that she had something more important to do. So we obviously were not important. We overheard other servers complaining that their coworkers hadn't been trained properly. This was readily apparent. The food was not great. Our daughter became sick after eating the pulled pork rolls. The portions are ridiculously large, no avg person could eat this amount of food. The sound level of the background music is unbearably loud. So disappointed!!! I wanted to love this place being a southerner!

I really like their burgers because the bread doesn't get soggy. Their fries are very thin but delicious and they give you a lot. Every meal comes with a biscuit with blueberry jam, you have to try it. The food is always good but sometimes the service can be off.

Decent food, but the service was slow. The mac n' cheese is seriously yummy, but this is not a place for those counting calories (lots of fried and fatty foods).

Tonight while walking our dog in Market Commons we stopped into Tupelo Honey. We were hoping they would let us on the patio for a late night meal. We had already been turned down by 2 other restaurants. They said sure, yea!! Alyssa was a gracious and friendly server even though it was close to closing. She answered all our questions and told us about the restaurant. I loved the menu and the food was terrific! Buttery melt in your mouth biscuits served w/blueberry jam. The creamy onion soup was very flavorful. Homemade mac and cheese is a side choice! I will be back for more southern fried chicken....

Ok friends. This is hands down the best place I have eaten in a very long time. Absolutely the best omelette I've ever had in my life. The sweet potato pancake is heavenly and the coffee is fresh ground on site. I would go back there any time. I'll be back on my next trip up to Myrtle Beach!

Great friendly service lovely decor and positively delicious food. Whatever ingredients are listed in the description you can taste whether pecans or apples or cranberries. The mac-n-cheese is heaven as are the biscuits. Everything was so flavorful I never even needed the salt shaker which is amazing for me! For all this prices are quite reasonable! I'll definitely go back soon!

our waiter lost the orders do we had to order again and he poured water in my coke and there was a hair in my food and didn't take it off the check at first until we got the manger But after all that it was good . So it's a 3 star.

Another wonderful Tupelo Honey, shrimp and grits are delish! My hubby had the Eggs Betty and loved it. We both had a tasty Violet Beauregard. If you have not been to any of the Tupelo Honey restaurants you should, soon!

Mediocre at best. Inexperienced staff. Food was ok. Scallops were salty and overcooked. The risotto was just bad, I wonder where in the South did they get their recipe. It's just a mid-level chain restaurant. Nothing special, except good beer selection. It's a good place to have a beer and appetizers after your round of golf. If you skipped this place, you missed nothing

Second time visiting, and it was packed. For good reason. The food and drinks were great from start to finish. Our server Stephen was excellent. My favorite was definitely the ham wontons small plate. Will absolutely be back there soon!

We had a wonderful time but our server went out of his way to make us feel welcomed. Nick greeted us outside on the patio on a rather warm afternoon where he took our drink order and the server also working outside with him had brought over a dog water bowl for our dog. Even though we only ordered cocktail drinks, Nick kept our waters filled and brought us biscuits. We love coming to visit here, not only is the food good, but we love the fact you allow pets on the patio. It makes for a nice stop after spending time at the dog park. Looking forward to our next visit!

Enjoyed lunch but main dining room acoustics are horrible. Cannot hold a decent conversation without yelling. I had high hopes for this place since I live in Market Common. Will try eating in the bar area or outside and hopefully have a better experience.

Most amazing food! Tupelo Honey is such a pleasure to have in Market Commons. I have eaten there 2 nights in a row. Our bartender Brennan came out and took care of us even though we grew in size and had to move to a cocktail table. He also stopped by our table to make sure everything was superb last night along with several of the managers. I will for sure be back and will also be telling everyone I know how much of a great restaurant Tupelo Honey is. Great service! Great food! Great atmosphere! No complaints here!

Had some of the most delicious food we've had in Myrtle Beach in a long time. Even though it was packed, our waitress Jessica was very attentive. The cheesy cauliflower was incredible, so was the fried chicken and sweet potato pancake. Loved the kale salad too, (not even a huge kale fan) but it was the citrus quinoa salad that blew that really blew our skirts up! More please!

This is as good as it gets in Myrtle Beach! Food is great - loved the wings, egg rolls and Mac and cheese is fab! We've been twice in the past week. Great selection of beers and don't miss the Happy Hour!!

I've been here a handful of times since they opened and the food has been great every time. Their biscuits and jam are delicious. I've come here for brunch as well and it was great. The only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is because every time I ask for their signature drink, the Magic Attic Passion Fruit Pina Colada, they never have it. The response is always, the machine is broken. Very disappointing when you go there for Happy Hour and they don't even have their specialty drink.

Good and not so good. It all started when we were seated at a booth that wasn't clean. Next the waiter got the drink orders wrong but quickly corrected. Next our dinners came and both of our dinners were raw. Raw scallops and raw chicken. The general manager came over immediately apologized and new dinners were brought out within minutes. The new dinners were very good. Even though our 1st experience was not the best, we feel that the problems were handled very well and we would go back again. Meals were compted.

I consider myself a foodie and I have to say this had to be in my top 5 dining experiences ever. Food, drinks, and service were all amazing. Had the pecan encrusted goat cheese followed by the Shoo shrimp and grits with chorizo. Incredible.
